Artist Opportunities in the Regions: 

Arts Retreat in New York Mills, MN:    Need some uninterrupted time for creative development and exploration? Check out their site.

Artists from all disciplines (performance, written, audio and visual media) will be considered for a residency (lasting 2 to 6 weeks).  The selection committee awards residencies to artists based on artistic merit and commitment to the arts.  Deadline has been extended to October 15th.

SEMAC's Artists & Culture Bearers in K-12 Schools Grant:  See their website at:   https://semac.org/grant-programs/#k-12  The next deadline is October 1 and there will be one more December 1.  These residency grants are meant to provide students in grades K-12 with opportunities to work directly with artists and culture bearers during the school day. Grant activities must supplement the school’s arts curriculum and not be a substitute for these basic requirements and can be in any discipline, including but not limited to, painting, photography, printmaking, textiles, music, dance, theater, performance, storytelling, literary arts, intermedia arts, and traditional arts.

Award Amount: $2,000 to $4,000
Application deadlines:  August 1, October 1 and December 1, until funds run out

The Sandbar Storytelling Festival in Winona Mn www.sandbarstorytellingfestival.org is October 10-11th---The presenter is Elizabeth Ellis, NEA American Masterpiece Touring Artist & National Storytelling Network Lifetime Achievement Award winner. A 2 day workshop for $375 plus $65 for housing on St. Mary's Campus is following on October 12-13th.  

SEMAC is excited to start a new partnership with Springboard for the Arts to offer their Work of Art: Business Skills for Artists workshop series virtually to individual artists and culture bearers living in SEMAC’s region. The first three workshop topics and dates:
